2017: NOTHING TO FEAR

The power of love is the most dramatic force in the universe.

Reading the news, it seems we’re all on a sinking ship doomed to plummet to the depths of an angry sea. What with climate change resulting in freezing winters, major floods, droughts, not to mention earthquakes, forest fires and tornados, it would appear the planet is also in turmoil.

Then there are the terror attacks, refugees flooding into Europe and military build ups in various parts of the world. There is animal cruelty in numerous countries.  North Korea is a threat with its nuclear weapons and China is flexing its mighty muscles. It all seems pretty bleak but wait a minute, it’s not all bad.

There is more love in the world than ever before.

“Being loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone gives you courage.”  Lao Tzu (Founder of Taoism)

For the past few years, I’ve been studying consciousness and what I have learned has changed my outlook. I used to believe everything I read in the press. Now I realize it is best to take what is reported with a grain of salt. News is a business and the media is only after paying customers. Journalists know sensational stories sell. No matter what is being reported from refugee dramas to accidents to celebrity weddings, I have discovered the ‘truth’ is often not as it’s reported to be. You may have heard the saying, “read between the lines”. This has been great advice as I now only believe part of what I read. Sure, a fire does destroy houses and lives. A plane crash and terror attacks do kill people, but because I believe everything happens for a reason, I look at these tragedies from a different perspective.

A NEW REALITY

In the 1980s, astrophysicist and cosmologist, Carl Sagan told us “We are a way for the universe to know itself. Some part of our being knows this is where we came from. We are all made from stardust.”

Astronomy expert, Professor Impey, had this to say: “We know that stars eject gas into the medium between them so it can be part of subsequent stars and planets and people. It’s a well-tested theory,”

All life on earth and the atoms in our bodies were created after the explosions of long dead stars. Understanding this, we should realize that everything is connected. Planet Earth is a living entity, just like all the other planets. In fact, everything in the universe is living. Remember we come from the stars. Raping the seas for fish and slaughtering magnificent animals for ivory is an affront to a precious living planet that supports us with everything we need. There is no reason to exploit the gifts that would flow to us in abundance if we only stop our greed for more ‘stuff’.  We have to learn to respect this fact.

Killing intelligent creatures like whales, dolphins and elephants, has an impact on us all. Destroying rain forests, also destroys the animals that live there. Hydraulically fracturing the earth’s crust for oil (fracking) is torturing our beautiful planet.

However, there is more love in the world than ever before.

“All you need is love.” The Beatles

For centuries, indigenous peoples on every continent have understood the importance of respecting this planet. They have known what science has only recently confirmed, that Mother Earth has a consciousness and needs to be treated with respect. American Indians, the Zulus of Africa, the Inca of Peru and the Aborigine of Australia, all offer gratitude for the gifts provided by the earth, sea and sky in age old ceremonies performed with solemnity. These people live close to nature and only take what is needed for survival and do their best to live in harmony with the flora and fauna around them.

SHOWING DISAPPROVAL

I believe Mother Earth wants us to stop our destructive behaviours and complains by creating earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. Still we take no notice. Pumping pollution into the skies is another assault on the planet. The response? floods, storms, droughts. Still we don’t stop.

Our Generous Home

Still, there is more love in the world than ever before.

“Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend.” Martin Luther King, Jr.

Many of us are too lazy to think for ourselves, that’s why the media has become so powerful. The negativity it focuses on is designed to keep us in a state of fear. The answer? Do your own research. Conflict is part of the human condition because the ego constantly attempts to be ‘top dog’. Our challenge is to control the ego and realize it is only there to allow us to fully experience being human.

THE POWER OF FEELINGS

“What do you think?” doesn’t have the same impact as “how do you feel?” Why? Feelings are the way our subconscious communicates with us. When you really “feel” something, it impacts on you in a more potent way than any other of the senses. When you extend this to the planet (with its intelligence) you begin to understand the amount of trauma we are inflicting on the generous planet we call home.

Still, there is more love in the world than ever before.

“Let us always meet each other with a smile, for the smile is the beginning of love.” Mother Teresa

What are we to do? How can we make a change? Simple! Love your life. Love yourself and love the planet. Doing this, the troubles of the world will have a lesser impact on your life so it’s got to be worth it.

Love is the most powerful force in creation. In fact, I believe we are all here to give and receive love. Terror, hate, revenge—none of it can survive when love is shared. Yes, it’s easier said than done but all you need to do is spread some love around in your life. You will be amazed at how your life improves.

DRAMATIC FORCE

Numerous studies have been done into the lives of kids abandoned by parents and brought up in orphanages. In every case, they had grown up with emotional and behavioural issues. Some turned to crime and drugs, others became suicidal. Those adopted by loving parents, grew into stable adults. The lesson learned here was receiving no love as a young child led to no respect for self or others. Just a little love reduced the chance of the child becoming anti-social.

“Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead.” Oscar Wilde

All you need is love!

As everything is connected, your love will have a positive impact on the events taking place on this intelligent planet we call home.

Have a magnificent 2017.
