SEX IN NEW ZEALAND

The most comprehensive Kiwi Sex Survey to date revealed that one in six New Zealanders have sex less than once a year!!!! and one in six people think their sex life is monotonous and boring.

Adult Toy Megastore and Colmar Brunton surveyed more than 1500 New Zealanders on their sex lives, including the amount they’re having and how satisfied they are with their romps. The survey revealed that 50% are happy with their sex lives and also with the number of times they have it, which is once or twice a week on average. Those who are unhappy with their sex lives are having it less than once or twice a month when they would prefer to be having it two to three times a week. The majority of those surveyed agreed that great sex is key to a happy relationship. To add to the mix, 51% of those surveyed claimed to have had a one-night stand.

WHERE IS THE ACTION?

People living in Hamilton are having the most sex (three or more times a week on average), while, according to the survey, people living in Tasman, Nelson and Marlborough are having the least sex – three times a year or less on average.

Having frequent sex doesn’t necessarily equal sexual satisfaction. The unsatisfied Kiwi is likely to be aged between 35 and 39. Hawke’s Bay is ranked the most sexually satisfied region, where people are enjoying it once or twice a week on average. For some odd reason, Otago is the least sexually satisfied region even though residents are having sex once a week on average.

From the survey, here is the list of cities in order of frequency of sex:

Hamilton

Auckland

Whangarei

Dunedin

Napier/Hastings

Palmerston North

Wellington

Christchurch

POPULAR PLACES TO ENGAGE IN SEX

44% of those surveyed have had sex in a public place. 4% said they have done it on a plane. 15% have had sex in a public bathroom. 12% have engaged in sex at a music festival with one in five from Palmerston North claiming this. It’s no surprise that beaches feature as a favoured location for outdoor sex. With 15,000km (9,320 miles) of coastline and over 700 beaches, many secluded and out of public view, 45% of New Zealanders said they chose a beach. It is a romantic location with the sea and sand as a backdrop. One in two Kiwis have had sex in a tent, whilst 12% have had sex at a music festival. It was also a surprise that 63% of those surveyed said they had used a car for sex with 74% of respondents from Palmerston North claiming to have had car sex.

The park is another favourite location for Kiwis to have a romp. It’s as exciting as doing it in the wild and a park generally has benches, slides, or just grass to have sex on. Those who want to be on their own property but experience the thrill of being outdoors where the public can see, try sex on the balcony. Spa pools are common in a number of Kiwi homes. The hot, steamy water mixed with the bubbles and jets is the reason spas are also popular with Kiwis having a sexy experience.
One in seven Kiwis are more likely to have sex on New Year’s Eve than a normal night and one in four are more likely to have sex on their birthday than a normal day. With summer here keep an eye out for the grass moving when there is no wind. It is liable to be Kiwis (the human kind) enjoying a sexy romp!!!
